Macrovision to Acquire InstallShield

Macrovision® Corporation (Nasdaq: MVSN) announced on June 17 it has signed a definitive agreement to acquire the assets and operations of privately-held InstallShield® Software Corporation of Schaumburg, Illinois. Macrovision Corporation (Nasdaq: MVSN) is a leading provider of digital rights management (“DRM”) technologies for the video, music and software industries. Upon closing of the acquisition, InstallShield Software Corporation will become part of Macrovision’s Software Technologies Group. Macrovision plans to continue full-scale development and expansion of InstallShield’s existing product lines.

Macrovision Corp. wird InstallShield Software Corp. übernehmen. Eine entsprechende Vereinbarung wurde von beiden Firmen am 17. Juni unterzeichnet. Macrovision Corporation (Nasdaq: MVSN) ist ein führender Anbieter von Digital Rights Management (“DRM”) Technologien für die Industriebereiche Video, Musik und Software. Mit dem Abschluss der Übernahme wird InstallShield Software Corp. ein Teil der Software Technologies Group von Macrovision. Macrovision plant, die Entwicklung der vorhandenen InstallShield Produktlinien in vollem Umfang fortzuführen.

InstallShield X jetzt auch in Deutsch

Die German Editionen von InstallShield X Premier und InstallShield X Professional sind jetzt verfügbar.
Die Entwicklungsumgebung ist nur für Windows-Projekte lokalisiert, also Windows Installer (MSI), InstallScript und Mobil-Geräte. Für Java-basierende Universal-Projekte ist die IDE auch bei der German Edition in Englisch. Ob auch die Universal IDE übersetzt wird, hängt von der Kunden-Nachfrage ab.
InstallShield X Professional German enthält, wie schon bei den Vorgänger-Versionen üblich, 2 Sprachen. Man kann also z.B. Setups erstellen, die wahlweise in Deutsch oder Englisch ausgeführt werden. Die englische Professional enthält dagegen nur 1 Sprache.
Die Premier Edition enthält immer alle 33 Sprachen, hier ist also kein Unterschied zwischen der deutschen und der englischen Version.
